I hope you all had a blessed Easter! I am currently living in Kapunda for my rural hospital placement, but came home to Adelaide for the Easter long weekend. During this time, I made an appropriately themed fascinator and headed to the river with next to the university to take a few photos! It was a bit spontaneous, so I just used what materials were available to me since all the shops were closed.

FUNNY HAT FRIDAYS: Wirrabara Bark Crown
Happy Easter! I certainly enjoyed mine; it was a welcome break from hospital placement (we are now 14 weeks into the semester, with holidays over a month away) to catch up with friends and celebrate the death and resurrection of our blessed saviour. I spent the weekend with my old schoolmates, staying at my friend’s forest cabin in the Aussie bushland forest of Wirrabara (approx. 3hrs from Adelaide, near Laura)
Of course, I couldn’t resist taking advantage the beautiful location and company of my creative friends for a photoshoot. This was done in collaboration with E from Faith in Fools as my photographer (the recipient of a rose flowercrown as well as the host of our Kitschella party, if you recall).
FUNNY HAT FRIDAY: 30-second NYE Fairylights Circlet and Henna
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a fruitful 2016 and a festive end to the year! For me, 2016 had many challenges but also many wonderful joys and new memories 🙂 My New Year’s Eve was spent at my friend’s Bollywood-themed party: think copious amounts of curry, papadams, henna, saris and Bride and Prejudice #culturalappreciation

COLLABORATION: DIY Red Riding Hood Cloak
This is the most-involved photoshoot I have done to date, and involved DIY fashion with make-up by the talented Chelsea Burford (check out her page!)
FESTIVAL FEVER: My Top 8 Music Festivals Bucket List
Summer is coming, or if you’re from down under like me, winter is coming (*cue GoT reference… and I don’t even watch that show) But whether it is winter or summer, it is always festival season somewhere in the world. So, here I am bringing you my dream music festivals both in Australia and abroad.
DIY Kitsch + Coachella= Kitschella Party
Knowing that we are highly unlikely to make it to Coachella my friends at Faith in Fools, we wanted to create our own DIY version, an excuse to decorate and throw a party to celebrate the summer holidays with our friends. It would involve homemade tents and teepees, fairy lights, lanterns and copious amounts of bunting. It would be kitsch. It would be Coachella. It would be Kitsch +Coachella= Kitschella
FUNNY HAT FRIDAY: ATLANTIS HEADDRESS
It’s Friday… a Funny Hat Friday! This is actually a creation/photoshoot from 2013 (#flashbackfriday), inspired by my Year 12 Atlantis-themed formal.
FUNNY HAT FRIDAY: Australia Day Eucalyptus headdress
January 26 was Australia Day, and thus the perfect opportunity (or should I say excuse) to prepare another headdress. I prepared three different designs, but this is the one that came to fruition. (more…)
FUNNY HAT FRIDAY: Ferns, Flowers and Fairylights
To mark the end of 2013, I’ve decided to post my greatest Funny Hat Friday creation yet (hopefully this doesn’t set an unachievable precedent for 2014!)
