Earlier this year, I was privileged to perform and choreograph for my medical school’s dance crew. Not only was it a memorable performance (even more so since it was the final year for a number of my graduating seniors), I was also lucky enough to receive a beautiful bouquet of daisies, fresias and sunflowers. After enjoying their beauty for a week, it was time to give them a new lease on life as a flowercrown.
This was made in my usual way: a green vine base, with the flowers fixed in place with florist wire. The fresias were so fragrant!
The feel I wanted to capture with this photoshoot was something playful and adventurous, free-spirited and a little spunky. I really loved the colours of the daisies that the florist chose, and I also loved wearing overalls for the first time since I was kid.
It was also our first time doing a shoot at our local Australian nature reserve; great location, but sometimes climbing into creekbeds can be difficult! The logs are also quite rough to sit on. Definitely worth it though!
